Charcoal Self Portraits1. What techniques I tried and master are the grid and shapes and noticing color. What techniques I struggled with was detail and knowing were to put each dot on the grid.
2. How I drew inspiration from other artists is I saw what other people did to their picture and I tried to put in into my drawing. This was hard at first but it help when I got the hang of it. 3. The evolution of my piece started out really bad but once I put in the dots for connecting in the grid I saw it all come together. there were a lot of decisions made like how to make the shape of my head and how far to the left or right to start with. 4. I am actually pretty happy with how the picture came out I would not do anything over. artistic stament 1. When I look at my art work I see a picture of me. What art elements are most obvious in my work are shape, size and color the principles are most obvious is mostly balance. 2. What media I used to make my art is charcoal white charcoal. The tools I used to make my art is a ruler, eraser, charcoal, willow charcoal and a grid. The process I used to make my art is using the brown paper in my art in making it lighter with white charcoal. I also used the grid to help start my art and know where to put my art. 3. I did not show much emotion in my art but while making it I felt frustrated and annoying because it did not look like how I wanted it to but when I ask my fellow artists what they think I should do they gave me some advice and once I used it my art piece started turning out how I wanted it. 4. My goals for this artwork were to master most of the art elements like shape, size, color and line. This piece did help me master shape, size, color and line because it showed me how to draw my picture and know how to draw it. 5. My thoughts on how this turned out was very shocked because I never knew how to draw a person other then a stick figure. This art piece helped me go deeper and see more value with the art elements. Doing this charcoal portrait will influence my art in the future because it showed me that following elements and principles of design I can improve my art more and make it the best it can be. |

2.what media I used to make my artwork is colored pencils. The tools I used were colored pencils eraser and a ruler. 3. what inspired me to make this is I always been a big fan of abstract art because you don't need to copy anything and you can see things in your art that you did not mean to draw it. It does not express any issue I just like drawing abstract pictures. 4. My goals for this was to finish and do my best. I reached my goal because I worked hard and tried my best. 5. I dont really have any thoughts about it but I did learn how to show dominance of one color which will help me in the future. |

It does not express any issue. 4. My goals for this art was to try and make it as the same as the picture I took of myself. I did reach my goal but I don't really like the way the head is drawn, 5. My thoughts about the art is it really shows the suspicious look in the eyes and I am really happy about that. I learned about how eyes show emotions in the picture. |

My goals for this artwork was to try really hard to show the eyes half closed in boredom. I did not really meet this goal because I struggled with trying to the pupil right but i could not do it. 5. My thoughts on this artwork is I am ok with how this turn out but I wish I could have learned how to make the pupil of the eye the same. |

1. My artwork is a Zentangle water color mandala representation of a balance of peace and chaos. The half with a the designs represents chaos and the half with just paint represents peace. Together they represent how life is live through the balance of peace and chaos. The elements and principles of design that are most obvious in my work are value, balance of chaos and peace, size, color and shape.
2. The media my art is made from is paint. The tools I used to make my artwork is watercolor paper, paint, pencil, paintbrushes and a design to reference off of. 3. The big idea behind my artwork is about how life is filled with both peace and chaos. My art work expresses a personal issue because each color means in mandala which represents how my journey in life has been. The emotion I tried to show is what my life has been like in each circle I used green in the center to show how my life started out with physical healing, physical ability and love of nature and caring. I used yellow to show how I grew with learning, wisdom, laughter and happiness. From that I used orange to show how I transformed from what I learned into being creative having self awareness and intuition. I chose blue next because I learned about death and understood emotional healing and how to find inner peace because of emotional healing. I used yellow again to show how I grew from the experience and learned how to be happy. I chose red for the next one because I became stronger and found my passion for animals. lastly I chose black because I am more individual and a deep thinker. 4. My goals for this artwork was to show the balance of chaos and peace and show my journey through life so far. I did meet my goals because not only did I show the balance of peace and chaos I showed my journey of how I grew as a person. 5. What I learn about this art peace is life can't just be peace or just chaos there needs to be a balance of the two and I learned the meaning of colors in mandala and how to use them to show what my life has been like. This final piece is what I imagined because I had an idea of what I wanted it to look like and it turned out exactly how I wanted. This will influence my future artwork by using balance to make my artwork better. |
1.My work is a basset hound in a flower field of grass.The elements that are most obvious in my work are color, size shape, and value.
2.How I created my art is I took a picture of a basset hound from the internet and used that to inspire my drawing. The tools I used to make my work is water color paper, paint brushes, ink, sharpey, and paint. 3.No one inspired me to make this art I just really love basset hounds. My artwork does not express any social or personal issue. There is no emotion that I tried to show in my art. 4.My goals for this artwork was to have it come out looking like a basset hound in a field of flowers in grass. This piece help me reach my goal but I feel like I could have done better with more time. 5.My thoughts on my artwork is I really liked how it turned out before I added the ink on because there were no black spots on it. but with the ink on it doesn't really meet how I wanted it to turn out. This piece will influence my art in the future by learning from what I did and trying to improve working with ink next time. 1.Painting three layers of paint relates to life because each layer is like a layer of your personality. 2.Painting the entire image black relates to life because it represents the stress you have in your life. 3.Washing the black ink off relates to life because it represents the cleanse of stress or negative things in life and the ink that's left is the stress you always carry. |
1. My artwork is a picture of a basset hound head. The elements that are most obvious in my artwork are shape and size.
2. How I created my artwork is I drew a picture of a basset hound and then translated it on carving bored then I used sharpie to outline the drawing. After I finished outlining I started carving out what I wanted to be white then I used ink on it to translate it to water color paper. 3. I always loved how tiny basset hounds and how long their ears are thats why I wanted to draw one. 4. My goal for this artwork was to not get frustrated with the process of making it and how it turned out. I did meet my goal because I liked how it turned out but I did get frustrated with the process of carving it. 5. My overall thoughts of this artwork is I am proud of how it all came together but the process of making it was painful which made me learn that doing art can make you frustrated which will help me in the future to know that I can't expect it to turn out how I want on the first try. |
1.My final artwork is a painting of me with my saint bernard puppy. The elements that are most obvious in my artwork are shape, size, color and value.
2. I created my artwork by using a picture I took as a reference and drew a grid to copy it on to paper. The media my artwork is made from is paint. 3. There was no social or personal issue I tried to express in my art but the emotion I tried to show in it was how happy dogs make me. What inspired me to paint this was the fact that its the only picture I have of a muddy dog. 4.My goals for this art was to mostly show how dirty the dog was and how that made me happy. I didn't reach the goal of showing how muddy the dog is because it is hard to show all the dirt she had on. 5. My overall thoughts on how this turned out is pretty good it was difficult translating the small picture onto a bigger piece of paper but it turn out pretty good otherwise. What I learned from this is how to use everything I learned as a artist and use it in my final to make it how I want. |
